To be eligible to win the Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence Award, candidates must meet all of the following criteria:
Be a legal resident of the continental United States;
Be a military veteran or a current or former member of the National Guard or Reserves;
Have graduated from a PTDI-certified or NAPFTDS or CVTA member driver training school and be a current CDL holder;
Have been employed by any for-hire carrier or private fleet that has pledged to hire veterans through truckingtrack.org;
Was first employed as a CDL driver between January 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017; and
Agree to all of the Award Rules, including attending the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas on Friday, August 26, 2017.

First, you must be eligible (see the eligibility criteria above).
Second, you must be nominated by your motor carrier or training organization between March 23, 2017 and and June 30, 2017 by the close of business at 5:00pm EDT.
Third, you must be identified as a finalist by the expert panel of judges based on the criteria set forth in the contest rules including: availability of loads, on time delivery, highway safety performance, customer relations, work record, military service record, and non-job related activities/community service.
Fourth, you must participate in the Great American Trucking Salute and be available on December 15, 2017 in Washington, DC, if chosen as one of three finalists.
