Finding America’s top rookie military veteran driver.
Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence recognizes a veteran, Guardsman or Reservist who has built a professional driving career after service. The winner receives a new Kenworth T680.
One truck, one driver, every year.
A joint program of Kenworth Truck Company, Fastport, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes initiative.
Nominations open each March and come from carriers, training schools, private fleets and individuals across the country. From that field, a selection committee names eleven semi-finalists — the Elite 11 — then three finalists, then one winner.
Every driver in the running has completed a CDL program and entered the industry within the past year. Their achievements are the case for hiring veterans, stated plainly.
This year’s Elite 11
A fully equipped Kenworth T680, valued at approximately $155,000.
Awarded for the eleventh consecutive year. The truck carries a 76-inch sleeper, DigitalVision Mirrors, Bendix Fusion adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.
